Mechanics of Motion / Winterlumen Opening of The Point phase 3, Eastleigh - November 12, 2009 The aerial dance duet, Mechanics of Motion, was commissioned to mark the opening of a new building at The Point theatre complex in Eastleigh. Performed by Jono Fee & Graeme Clint Musician/composer: Sianed Jones Rigged by High Performance Productions Leonardo Da Vinci has always fascinated me as someone who cross-fertilised ideas from science, art and engineering. Da Vinci is widely regarded as an innovator and inventor and his research and works on anatomy, movement and flight provide numerous sources of inspiration for an aerial duet. The drawing of the Vetruvian Man, one of the most widely recognized symbols in the world, was one such source for the piece. The Roman architect Vetruvius, after whom Da Vinci’s drawing is named, theorized that the human body was the principle source of proportion in architecture because the body fits into the perfect geometric forms of a square and a cir

The Lovepet: an aerial dance poem... Choreographed by Robyn Simpson The Lovepet was created and performed with a cast of nineteen dancers, aerialists and actors. The 45-min show was inspired by the poetry of Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath. ...Delving into the highs and lows of a tumultuous relationship between poets Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath through an exploration of pivotal moments that can define a lifetime. 'He wanted a mother of halva. She wanted the hill-stream tabula rasa. He wanted the thread-end of himself. So they ransacked each other' Folktale – Ted Hughes We fall, we drop, we fly. We can reach, and be caught; sometimes we catch hold of another person; sometimes we connect, there is intimacy... Sometimes we miss each other all together. Muse Tours The 2nd Law tour that turned into the Unsustainable tour around Europe. Aerial Choreography by Robyn Simpson Didn't hear rumblings about the name change, but then when you're in a stadium with 60,000 - 80,000 people all screaming or singing - at a rock concert what do you expect to hear? Just very happy, enthusiastic fans. A highlight (no pun intended) ? Definitely Rome. It was where we shot the 4D DVD and we used about six times the confetti cannons. Check out the trailer here . Loved being on the road. The team were great (thanks crew, Cirque Bijou and The Dream Engine), and we had Charles the Robot for company! And you might have seen that there were a few awards handed out at the 2013 Live Music Awards : Cato Music won Tour Manager of the Year and Muse won Spectacle of the Year. Hoorah!
